How to be heard

  1. Before the meeting: Email the council or clerk. Include your name and Basalt address so they know you are a constituent. Ask that your comment be entered into the public record.
  2. At the meeting: Attend in person at Town Hall or join the hybrid Zoom. Public comment opens at the start of every meeting, and speakers are called again on specific agenda items. Each speaker gets 3 minutes — practice yours aloud beforehand so the key point lands first.
  3. After the meeting: Minutes and recordings are posted to the Agenda Center and YouTube channel.
